Tony Bellew says he would end his boxing retirement for the right price.

The former WBC cruiserweight champion seemingly walked away from the sport for good following a knockout loss against Oleksandr Usyk in November 2018.

Bellew previously appeared on Carl Froch’s YouTube channel and the two men joked about potentially squaring off against each other in a catchweight exhibition bout.

‘The Cobra’ has been away from the ring since famously knocking out George Groves in front of 80,000 people at Wembley Stadium in May 2014 to defend his WBA and IBF super middleweight titles.

“Was Carl Froch really joking? You really never know with Carl,” Bellew told Spinbet when they suggested Froch’s fight challenge was not a serious one.

“I don’t know what the price would be to get me in the ring to fight Carl in an exhibition, but it wouldn’t go the distance I can tell you that much.”

Bellew is confident he would become the first man to stop Froch, who was known for having a granite chin throughout his 33-2 fight career.

He added: “Never say never. It wouldn’t take place at Goodison Park, but Carl wouldn’t see the final bell let me tell you that.

“If somebody offers me the right price, then I’m sorry to say that I am fighting again.

“Everybody has a price and everyone on social media can say what they like but if everybody needs to get paid and if they offer the right price then you do it and get on it.”

Froch has openly admitted that he was dropped by Bellew during one of the many gym wars they shared when they helped one another prepare for upcoming fights.

"So there's a story I'll tell you now,” he said in March 2020. “Me and Tony Bellew used to spar, we used to have some heavy spars.

Carl Froch goes on furious X-rated rant at 'f****** embarrassing' Jake Paul for booking Mike Tyson fight

“He's put me over. He's the only person to put me over in sparring I don't know if I've mentioned it before.

"I'm not bothered, he put me down on the floor. He caught me with a right hand, sweet, on the chin, as I was backing him up, thinking I was gonna chin him.

"He timed me and caught me with a right hand. And he can punch, Tony Bellew.

If someone is willing to put the right offer in front of Bellew, Froch may get the chance to lace up the gloves again and finally get his own back.
