Tim Tszyu will defend his WBO light middleweight title for the first time this evening when he takes on Sebastian Fundora in Las Vegas.

The Australian was set to face Keith Thurman but he will instead now take on a late-notice replacement after the American withdrew.

Fundora has stepped up to the task and the 6ft 5in American will prove to be a tough opponent for the champion as he stands eight inches taller than Tzyu.

As well as fighting for the WBO belt, the vacant WBC light middleweight title will also be on the line in Las Vegas.

It is set to be a historic night for Tzyu no matter the outcome, with the 29-year-old set to bank an Australian-record $10 million (AU $15.3 million) for the bout.

Tszyu vs Fundora: What has been said?

Tszyu has confidently backed himself to win in Las Vegas despite the clear height difference between the two.

"I'm not the one to fear," he said. "He should be fearing me. That's the difference. Nothing stops me, no matter what.

"In my mind, I live in a different era to where we are now. We live in an era of Twitter battles rather than fighters.

"So I hope I can inspire more boxes out there. I saved the show - T-Mobile Arena, all of this stuff.

"Every other fighter that's fighting on the undercard, it's all because of my decision, and it was like that (without hesitation)."
