Jamie Vardy was spotted making a cheeky gesture towards the West Brom fans following his side's table-topping win.

Aside from being best known for firing Leicester to the Premier League title in 2016, the Foxes icon is also one of football's biggest wind-up merchants.

Now, West Brom fans have become his latest victims.

As the striker walked around the pitch celebrating his side's 2-1 victory with the home fans following the final whistle, TV cameras caught the moment he faced the travelling section.

Getting their attention by pointing downwards multiple times, Vardy appeared to repeatedly mouth the words 'staying down', referencing West Brom currently being in the play-off places.

Fans on social media were cracking up at the moment, one writing: "Ha ha ha Vardy loves playing Albion! #lcfc king of the wind-up."

"Vardy rattling the West Brom fans at the end. Wouldn’t change it for the world," a second wrote.

Meanwhile a third said: "Vardy absolutely giving to to West Brom fans at FT."

The 37-year-old was clearly on cloud nine after scoring what went on to be the winning goal to seal the Foxes' return to the top of the Championship table.

He did also miss a penalty in the game to add to Wilfred Ndidi's opener to make it 2-0, but judging by his celebrations at the end, that hadn't taken the shine off his afternoon.

The Foxes are now on 91 points, two points clear of second place Ipswich and four ahead of third place Leeds.

Meanwhile, West Brom sit in fifth, seven points clear of dropping out of the play-off places.
