Crystal Palace eyeing up West Brom teenage sensation for January move

Crystal Palace are eyeing up a January move for West Bromwich Albion’s teenage sensation Nathan Ferguson according to The Daily Mail.

The Eagles sold right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United in the summer for £50million and they are now preparing to swoop for Ferguson as a replacement for him.

The versatile teenager Ferguson, has caught the eye in the Championship so far this season with a number of impressive displays both at right-back and left-back. He initially started as a centre back but new manager Slaven Bilic admitted he saw huge potential in the youngster in a full back role.

The England Under-20 international has burst onto the scene this season winning Man of the Match awards in games against Nottingham Forest on the opening day of the season and also against QPR where he scored his first senior goal for the club.

With Palace looking to improve the quality in their full back positions, Ferguson provides an ideal addition but it is incomprehensible to believe that the Croatian Bilic will allow one of his finest assets to leave the club during such an important season.

A move to the Premier League could appeal to the right-back but it is vital to remember he has only started ten games in the Championship so far and is still very much at the beginning of his career.

One positive for West Brom which works in their favour is that Ferguson is a local lad and has supported the Baggies all the way through his childhood. He has been a ball boy for the club and is still a fan and this emotional tie is sure to aid West Brom’s cause to keep one of their best young stars.

With Albion looking to secure promotion this campaign at the second time of asking, losing Ferguson would be a huge blow to their hopes of returning to the top flight.
