West Brom boss reveals mixed injury news ahead of Middlesbrough test

West Bromwich Albion boss Slaven Bilic has revealed the club’s latest injury news ahead of their clash against Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium as reported by the Express & Star.

Their is mixed news for the Baggies with the return of Ahmed Hegazi to the squad providing a real boost however, Bilic has ruled out Kieran Gibbs and Kenneth Zohore.

Hegazi played for Egypt in the latest round of internationals and Bilic revealed that was always the plan. “We wanted him to play that game. It’s a competitive game. To be fair, we are delighted.”

“One of the reasons we haven’t talked about Ahmed a lot in his absence is because of the guys who have been doing well – we haven’t missed him that much.”

“We spoke about him and we’ve been monitoring his recovery on a daily basis. I’m delighted he’s back. He’s a major player, he’s a top player. He’s going to be in the squad tomorrow.”

The Croatian then went on to explain the reasons for the absence of Gibbs and Zohore. “Gibbs broke his toe in one of the sessions last week,” Bilic continued. “So that’s one week, it’s going to be another week – it’s not that bad.”

“They say it’ll be two, two and a half weeks that he’s out and then he’ll be back.”

“Zohore’s got a small problem. It’s a grade one with his calf, and he’s definitely going to be out for tomorrow and Tuesday. Hopefully he’ll be back for the game against Charlton on Saturday.”

During the last game against Cardiff City, Grady Diangana was withdrawn shortly after half time with an Achilles issue but Bilic has confirmed that he will be fine for Saturday’s game.
