West Brom vs Southampton predictions
The Championship play-off final is the biggest prize in football in the world for prize money as the winner has to go into the top-flight having just not been good enough for automatic promotion.
West Brom and Southampton face-off as they came fourth and third respectively.
The Saints have been used to Premier League football for nearly a decade so will be keen to get back in their first season back down in the Championship after getting relegated in the 2022/23 season.
They dropped down with Leicester and Leeds that season who both fought well to get back up straight away.
But to reach the Premier League again, West Brom and Southampton have to face each other in two legs of the semi-final before taking on the other winner of the play-offs at the final at Wembley later on this month.
West Brom have made it to the final before, back in 2007 but were beaten 1-0 by Derby.
Southampton have only made it into the semi-finals once, also in 2007, where they lost to Derby.
That was decided by pens despite Southampton finishing in sixth position, and over the course of the two legs it ended 4-4.

There never seems to be a home or away advantage when it comes to the play-offs as everything prior is irrelevant and many teams show up well on the semi finals in their away clashes, just as West Brom and Southampton did in their respective away semi-finals in 2007. And the Saints look stronger with a great record against Albion.

Southampton have won six times in their last seven meetings against Albion in all competition, including the Premier League, Championship and FA Cup.
They did the double over West Brom this season in the Championship winning this fixture in February 2-0 and often seemed like they could be a team who could challenge for automatic promotion.
Albion were only eight points behind in the end of the season and even their goal differences are similar.
But Southampton have scored far more, but they've also conceded far more, with 87 for and 63 against.
While Albion have scored 70 but only conceded 47 in their 46 games which is a great defensive record in such a strong season.
That's not put them in as commanding position as it should have though, and the Saints can continue their prominent record against them here.

West Brom and Southampton have nearly identical forms coming into this with two wins sandwiching three defeats in their last five games.
One of those was a hefty defeat for the Saints losing 5-0 to the league champions Leicester away from home.
But the most recent one was a huge victory away from home at Leeds.
Albion had a slightly kinder run-in but fell short to Leicester just 2-1 and relegation contenders Sheffield Wednesday 3-0.
They need their players to be more consistent over these two legs if they're to stand a chance but based on the recent form there should be a few goals in this clash.
Southampton have the fourth most cards this season with 99 while West Brom only picked up 77, the third least in the division.
The Saints being away from home are likely to pick up a few more this time, for what's been an incredibly bad average per game, in terms of discipline.
